Spitfire Air Show Preview - RAF Duxford - 1998
A Spitfire Mk VB in formation with a Spitfire Mk IXE (centre) and a Spitfire XIVE (Top) during a photocall over Duxford, Cambridgeshire today (Thursday). The three aircraft will be taking part in the Spitfire Air Show at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford this weekend. The show will be largest public gathering of Spitfires since the end of the Second World War.
Fifty Years Of Flying Show - German V2 Rocket - Hendon Aerodrome
A German V2 rocket being unloaded at Hendon aerodrome, Middlesex, for the three-day 'Fifty Years of Flying' show. The V2 was made to reach a height of 70, 000 ft and fly at 3, 600 mph. It was the first type of wingless rocket projectile used in the Second World War. *This V2 has been in British hands since the Nazi rocket research station at Peenemunde was captured.

Food - Semi-Mobile Canteen - Coventry
A lady operates a semi-mobile canteen on the streets of Coventry following Lord Woolton's statement that the Ministry of Food had completed arrangements for feeding 20 percent of the population of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in the event of an emergency. Plans had been made for providing over 20, 000, 000 hot meals a day or 5, 000, 000 full course meals.
