Girls work at the Hercules cycle works in Aston, Birmingham. Factories in the Midlands area went back into production when power was restored to industries there, with hundreds of thousands of workers having to be stood off during the fuel crisis.

Babbacombe Model Village
Gardener Robert Gagie walks down the street at the Babbacombe Model Village near Torquay in Devon. The village began as a representation of the quintessential English countryside at its most beautiful 40 years ago. Since then the project has grown and now features an extensive range of buildings, working watermills, Georgian towns, tudor houses and classic Devon thatched villages and farms along with working railways, streams, waterfalls and an ornamental Lake stocked with specimen Koi carp.
