Transport - London Underground - Engineers Inspect London Transport's new Victoria Line - Fairlop

Concrete segments fitted together to make a complete tunnel lining ring, which is to be used in the construction of London Transport's new Victoria Line, are carefully checked by engineers working on a site at Fairlop, near Ilford. The concrete segments are made to exacting specifications at Fairlop and are regularly checked for quality and dimensions by resident engineers of the London Transport Board. The new underground railway, costing 56-million, will eventually stretch from Victoria to Walthamstow.
