Transport - New Euston Station - London
British Rail's new Euston station, London, which the Queen officially opens on Monday, was visited by the Press, and proved to be just the ticket for the modern traveller. This picture shows the new ticket office. The ticket counter is 80ft long with a low screen between the passenger and the ticket clerk. Meeting it at right angles is another counter, 85 feet long, completely open which deals with enquiries, reservations, travel to Ireland, and includes a portion for the London Tourist Board. Euston, the oldest main line rail terminal in London, has been completely rebuilt over the last five years at a cost of 15 million, and is now one of the most modern in Europe.
