At the BBC television centre in London today, actress Louise Jameson, 25, who is to be Dr Who's new comapnion.Louise is to play Leela, an alien from a distant planet, and she will be seen with Dr Who (Tom Baker) in the BBC-1 Saturday serial from January 1st.Miss jamesaon, born in Woodford Green, Essex, was trained at RADA and made her first TV appearance in Cider With Rosie. She also spent two years with the Royal Shakespeare Company.

184262-1 Comedians Eric Morecambe and Ernie Wise in the Hammersmith grounds of Euston Films today, where they teamed up with tough crimebusters Carter and Regan of "The Sweeney" Fame. Inspector Regan, actor John Thaw (left) and Det Sgt Carter, actor Dennis Waterman appeared as gusts on a Morecambe and Wise Christmas show in 1976. They joked they would only appear if Eric and Ernie agreed to appear in their show, and now the quartet will play in The Sweeney: "Hearts and Minds" an episode of the next series on ITV.
