Marlow Bridge, River Thames
The 129-year-old Marlow Bridge, one of the two road links over the Thames between Buckinghamshire and Berkshire. A five-ton limit has been imposed for traffic, and for the past two years, specially-made lightweight buses have been operating across the bridge. Should there be more than 16 passengers in a bus, the 'surplus' amount get out and walk across, rejoining the bus at the other side.
