Apache Helicopters at RAF Leuchars

Capt David Almot (left) and Major Howard Floyd take a close look at one of the Apache attack helicopters at RAF Leuchars due to participate in a flying exercise over Scotland and Northern England to test tactical leadership skills of frontline aircrew. Almost 50 fixed wing and 14 helicopters will take part in the exercise between February 18-28th, 2002. The night operations exercise is being held in Scotland and will hone the leadership skills of the aircrew in a controlled, but realistic night tactical environment. Flying will take place each evening, from Monday to Thursday, for the duration of the exercise, with all low level aerial activity completed by 11pm.
