Double delight for steam enthusiasts when the Christmas Dalesman took to the famous Settle to Carlisle line and crossed the dramatic Ribblehead Viaduct pulled by two steam engines, the Lancashire Fusilier and a British Railways Standard 4 (in front).

Landmark celebrates Royal Ascot
One of the Uk's leading landmarks was saddled up by a giant jockey to celebrate Royal Ascot moving from Berkshire to York in 2005. Measuring 150ft, taller than ten double decker buses, the jockey, affectionally known as " Yorkshire Jim" was seated on the Kilburn White Horse in Yorkshire which itself stands at an impressive 300ft.

London Terrorist Attacks - Two Minute Silence - Buckingham Palace
Britain's Queen Elizabeth II stands silently in London's Buckingham Palace forecourt, during a two minute silence held across the UK in memory of the victims of last week's terror attacks on the capital which claimed 52 lives.
