A British Airways Concorde touches down at Filton, nr Bristol, 30 years to the day after the first of its type flew on its maiden flight from Filton to Fairford. The plane made a nostalgic trip from Heathrow. Plans to stop off at the former test site at RAF Fairford were cancelled because the base is being used by US bomber planes involved in the Kosovan conflict.
Aviation - Sheila Scott Record Attempt - London
Round-the-World flier Sheila Scott, who is due to attempt another record-breaking flight. She will take off from Heathrow Airport in her single-engine Piper Comanche and hopes to achieve the women's record for the London to Cape Town flight. She hopes to complete the 8, 000 miles in less than three-and-a-half days, the time taken by Amy Johnson in 1936.
