Cricket - Equipment - Bats - London - 1935
With the approach of the summer season, London's cricket equipment industry is bursting into life. A factory at St John's Wood is busily transforming lumps of willow into bats. The picture shows an employee planing and shaping the willows before placing them in the splice.

Cricket - County Championship 1961 - Kent v Somerset - Day 1 - Garrison Ground 2, Gillingham
Kent Wicket Keeper Derek Ufton dives through the wicket and sends the bails flying, but his only reward is a grin from Somerset's Australian born batsman William Alley, who gets to the crease in time - but only just. Alley was batting in Somerset's first innings against Kent in the county cricket match at Gillingham.
