Pictured at the recent Isle of Wight music festival is pop singer Jimi Hendrix who was taken dead to St. Mary Abbot's Hospital, Kensington, London. German-born artist Monika Danneman, a former girlfriend of Hendrix, has been found dead in a fume-filled car near her home, police said.

In an otherwise slow race he finished in 4 minutes 7.6 seconds, Bannister clocked 53.8 seconds for the last lap. 06/05/2004 Sir Roger Bannister is reliving the moment he made sporting history today, Thursday 6th May 2004, with a day of celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the first sub-four-minute mile. Sir Roger is returning to Oxford University's Iffley Road sports ground, the scene of his triumph, for a restaging of the original athletics meeting at which he broke the record.
