MARCH 1ST - On this day in 1968 Elton John's first record "Ive been loving you" was released by Phillips records in England. Phillips, not realizing the potential of the soon to be pop star, released him in 1969, just prior to him teaming up with lyricist Bernie Taupin. Singer Elton John during the dress rehearsal for the Royal Gala Performance in aid of the Prince's Trust at the London Palladium. 30/12/97 receives a Knighthood in the New Year's Honours list.

Frank Cousins watches as Dr. H. C. King, narrator, checks the projection instrument inside the new London Planetarium. Representations of the sky, complete with sun, moon and stars, can be projected onto the inside of the building's dome-shaped roof. Celestial events and the positions of the stars and planets can be shown as they would appear on any date and from any part of the Earth. The Duke of Edinburgh is to attend the opening on March 19th.

PRINCESS ELIZABETH took the salute at the march-past of the Grenadier Guards Association, at their remembrance day parade and service. The service was held in the Guards' chapel, Wellington Barracks, London and wreaths were afterwards laid on the Guards' memorial. The PRINCESS more a long silver-grey coat, with a bonnet shaped hat mounted with a large pink rose. Picture Shows: H.R.H. PRINCESS ELIZABETH views the march past of the Grenadier Guards Association outside Buckingham Palace today, after their remembrance service.
