DONKEY RIDE 1955: Donkeys on the beach at Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset, are still providing rides for hundreds of children, the only resort where the donkeys are still on duty. Normally the donkeys would have gone into 'winter quarters' at least a month ago.

The trailer caravan, solving many difficulties for those who want to see Britain. Trailers that could be slept in had long been popular with circus troupes and Romany gypsies and the idea was taken further by the Bristol Carriage Company in 1880 who built the worlds first leisure trailer.

Ted Rogers & Redcoat Hopefuls
