Science and Technology - Talking Computer For The Home - London
Actress Jacqueline Pearce (scheming Servalan from the television series Blake's 7) confronts the first talking computer for the home, launched in London by Texas Instruments of Bedford. This small version, selling at 995, brings push-button computing power into the home for education, personal finance, record-keeping and entertainment, and uses plug-in command modules that are pre-programmed so even the very young can use them. The 14-inch colour TV monitor can also be used as a normal television set.
