Radio and television personality Terry Wogan and his wife Helen arrive at the Lyceum Ballroom in London for the Carl-Alan awards presentation. Terry, who has compered the TV programme Come Dancing, received a special award at the ceremony. The annual Carl-Alan awards, named after former Mecca joint chairmen Carl Heimann and Alan Fairley, are considered to be the Oscars of the ballroom dancing world.
