Queen - Coronation Anniversary

Three generations of the British Royal family - Queen Elizabeth II and her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, their oldest son, the Prince of Wales, and his oldest son, Prince William - pose for a photograph, at Clarence House in London. * ... before a dinner to mark the 50th anniversary of her Coronation. The Prince of Wales was hosting the meal at his new residence, formerly the London home of the 101-year-old Queen Mother, after a day of celebration which included a service at Westminster Abbey and a children's tea party in the gardens of Buckingham Palace. Queen Elizabeth - Standards and Guidon ceremony

Britain's Queen Elizabeth II in her role as Colonel-in-Chief of the Household Cavalry, and the Duke of Edinburgh, arrive at the Presentation of Standards and Guidon ceremony in London's Horseguards Parade. * In a ceremony which occurs just once every 10 years, the Queen was being escorted, in a horse-drawn carriage, from Buckingham Palace to Horse Guards in Central London by cavalrymen of the Life Guards, where the old Standards and Guidon - banners - were being paraded for the last time. The new Colours and Guidon were then being brought on to the parade ground and, following consecration by the clergy, were being paraded before the Queen.

Queen Royal National Lifeboat Institution

Queen Elizabeth II the Duke of Kent (left) and the Duke of Edinburgh (right) with members of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, during the opening of the organisation's new lifeboat crew training centre in Poole, Dorset. While at the RNLI Lifeboat College, the Queen was given a demonstration of a lifeboat self-righting mechanism. The display, in the college's 25-metre wave tank, involved a four-man crew escaping after a lifeboat capsizes, and then setting off the inflatable device, which turned the boat upright again.
