The Royal Albert Hall
The statue of Prince Albert, husband of Queen Victoria, stands outside the New South Porch of the Royal Albert Hall by designer Shelagh Wakely. * The Royal Albert Hall signalled the final stage of an eight-year long, 70million modernisation programme by unveilling its newly-constructed South Porch and announcing its intention to open the building to daytime visitors in spring of 2004.
Golden Jubilee prom
The Princess Royal (right) with her sister-in-law the Countess of Wessex, arrives in the gardens of Buckingham Palace to attend a classical concert to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. * Starring Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, the Prom at the Palace is the first public concert staged in the Buckingham Palace grounds and marks the start of a weekend of celebrations. 12, 000 tickets for the evening were allocated by ballot.

They were attending a charity concert given by Shirley Bassey, organised by the Combined Charities Committee in aid of the Prince of Wales's Charities Trust.
