There was almost a love-in at London's Euston railway station when Beatle Paul McCartney (r), wearing a floral patterned tunic, was surrounded by adoring fans as he boarded a train for Bangor, North Wales. Paul will be attending the Normal College lecture by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the founder of the International Meditation Society.

Dave Clark Five, who displaced the Beatles from the top of the hit parade with Glad All Over, leave London Airport for America. * 20/9/03: Lead singer Smith has suffered a spinal injury in a fall at his home in southern Spain. He was admitted to a hospital in Cadiz before being transferred to a nearby private hospital. His condition was described as critical but Smith s New York agent, TCI, said his consultants remained "cautiously optimistic".
