Bad Weather Flooding
Swans swim along the banks of the flooded River Severn in Worcester. Two severe flood warnings remained in force in Wales as some of the worst weather of recent days began to recede. * The Environment Agency today issued the warnings for the rivers Wye and Monnow in Monmouth as well as 40 lesser warnings, mostly for rivers in the Midlands, Wales and the South West.
Foot and Mouth Crisis Sheep

The Scottish Parliament has decided that 200, 000 sheep in Scotland are to be slaughtered in a bid to eradicate foot-and-mouth disease. * All sheep on farms within three kilometres of infected premises will be culled and all sheep flocks containing animals that can be traced to infected markets will also be slaughtered.
