Babbacombe Model Village
Gardener Robert Gagie walks down the street at the Babbacombe Model Village near Torquay in Devon. The village began as a representation of the quintessential English countryside at its most beautiful 40 years ago. Since then the project has grown and now features an extensive range of buildings, working watermills, Georgian towns, tudor houses and classic Devon thatched villages and farms along with working railways, streams, waterfalls and an ornamental Lake stocked with specimen Koi carp.
Morris Minors : 1950
1950: Lined in solemn, soldier-like files on the jetty of the Samuel Willams wharf of the London docks are these Morris Minor cars, destined for Canada and sales in the precious dollar. Some 500 in total, they are part of a 1 million dollar consignment from the Nuffield Organisation of Cowley, Oxford.
