Died on this day - KING GEORGE VI (1895-1952)
06/02/1952: Died on this day, King George VI KING GEORGE VI: A portrait of King George VI in RAF uniform. King of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (1936-1952) and the last Emperor of India (1936-1947), he succeeded to the throne after the abdication of his elder brother, King Edward VIII.
