Brighton will be the first resort in England to have Life Girls on the beach this summer. A team of six unpaid volunteers, all members of the Brighton Swimming Club and all holders of the Royal Life Saving Society's bronze medallion, will be on duty each weekend from Saturday, May 26 until the end of the August. They will help keep safe swimmers between the Palace and West piers, sharing duties with qualified life-saving male members of the Brighton Swimming Club. *Scan from print.
