After many years of faithful service, steam-haulage made its last appearance on the Southern Region's crack all-Pullman Golden Arrows boat train when it sighed to a stand-still in London's Victoria Station. *With a certain amount of ceremony two fitters removed the Golden Arrow badges which have for so long been carried on locomotives hauling this crack express. Here they are seen removing the name-plate from the locomotive smoke-box door. From tomorrow the Golden Arrow will leave London for its sprint to the coast behind a powerful electric locomotive
