A windmill dating back to 1805 is pictured through the lychgate of St John's Parish Church at Lytham, Lancashire. Since grinding corn, it has been a tea house, the headquarters of the Ribble Cruising Club and an electricity sub-station. Currently it is being used as a temporary store for deck chairs.

Forty year old cement tanker driver, Gerald Melody in guise of King Charles is covered by flowers and is riding Charlotte is procession to mark Garland Day on Oak Apple Day at Castleton, Derbyshire. The ceremony actually dates back to pre-Stuart times to Pagan rites. This picture was taken outside St. Edmund's Parish Church, where the flowers were hoisted to the top of the tower and left to wither.
