Olympic Games - London 1948 - Richmond
The Ministry of Works Camp for Olympic Games contestants in Richmond Park was opened by the Right Honourable Charles Key , MP , Minister of Works . This 20 acre camp , previously used as an Army Convalescent Centre , will house 1, 400 competitors , team managers , masseurs , and trainers and 250 domestic staff .
